Global Community

Through direct connections ‘loving our neighbours’ in the global community we are helping to Stand Up and take action against poverty in support of the United Nations Millenium Goals. We support the Tilda Mission Hospital in India, by collecting ‘Pennies for Tilda’ – our recycled ink cartridges also raise funds for Tilda. The Kirk Session agreed to launch a Wardie Project – Closer to Tilda next Session 2009-10 – more information see News. We had a Faithshare student from Guyana for a year, and sent hymnbooks and support to her home church. Last year our Harvest Appeal was to ‘Give Poverty the Boot’ in support of Farm Africa. We send ‘filled shoeboxes’ through Blythswood Care to children and adults in poor communities in Eastern Europe or the Indian sub-continent with Christian message of joy at Christmas.
