Lent 2012 Ecumenical Discovery Groups

These groups are formed for the five weeks of Lent to allow folk from different traditions to come together to explore an issue. The groups are friendly, welcoming and open to everyone regardless of church involvement.

This year the groups will meet in the 5 weeks beginning with that starting on Monday 27th February. Details of the group dates, times and venues are being finalised and will be posted here as soon as possible. There will certainly be groups on Mondays and Wednesdays in the afternoon and evening. There is no charge but you will be asked to pay for your own handbook at a cost of about £3.25

The groups will this year use discussion material provided by York Courses, part of the Anglican Church. The focus is on the changing place of the Church in western society and the consequences and implications of that. This will also be contrasted with the growth of the Church in other parts of the world. There are audio CD’s with contributions from various people and booklets to inform the discussion.
