From 1–7 September it’s the Global Week of 24-7 Prayer. 24-7 Prayer International is inviting the global church to pray for every nation on earth. In more than 100 countries worldwide, more than 1000 prayer rooms are set up, ready to host night and day prayer.

There is a lot to pray about in our broken world, and 24-7 Prayer believes that this week of united prayer will make a real difference on a global, national, local and personal level.

If you’d like to join in, you can:

  • sign up for an hour in 24-7 Scotland’s virtual prayer room – here – and then pray for that hour at home
  • come along to one (or both!) of two hours of prayer being held at Wardie Parish Church – from 8pm to 9pm on Wednesday 3rd September (arrive at 7.45pm and buzz at the Netherby Road Door) and from 10am to 11am on Saturday 6th September
  • pray a prayer written by 24-7 Prayer:

Father of the nations, we join with our global family, lifting voices and hearts to you, the Creator, who reigns over all.
Please hear our prayer:
Lord, show us your glory.

Come quickly, shine brightly, illuminate every part of the world. May your glory be revealed by the power of the Holy Spirit, and your Son, Jesus, exalted across the earth.

Lord, show us your glory.

Strengthen your church, may it be a light in the darkness. Where there is weakness, give strength. Where there is fear, grant courage. And where there is despair, ignite hope.

Lord, show us your glory.

We ask for new life to spring forth, for joy to overflow and your kingdom to come. Help us to find our voice and empower our witness that we might proclaim your truth.

Lord, show us your glory.

Shine your light into the darkness, transform our nations, heal our land, and bring peace to all. Jesus, reveal yourself as the way, the truth, and the life throughout your beautiful planet.

Lord, show us your glory.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
